Herb Butters

The British Gardener RecipesHerb butters taste so good and are very simple to make. Some of the best herbs to use for this purpose are chives, tarragon, basil and parsley. Use them fresh or dried but fresh variety does taste better still.

Take a 1/4lb of butter and place in a dish. Chop the herb leaves finely and mix the two together. Place into small molds or make into small balls and place in fridge for a few hours to allow the flavour to permeate. Soooo yummy!

Herb Teas

The British Gardener RecipesChamomile, lemon verbena, lavender and mint are good choices, although many others taste great too. Many herb teas have therapeutic properties, such as calming a nervous stomach, improving digestion.

So simple to make. Warm your tea pot, take a few sprigs of herb, place in teapot and pour on the boiling water. Allow to steep few a few minutes and voila! You may want to strain as you pour it and some folks like a dash of sugar.
